How cool is this? I didn't know that the 'Christian Industry' had such a presence in Nash-Vegas. That's pretty sweet. I think I could handle working for a church-oriented business.

Did you watch Hardball last night? I don't have cable, but would love to know what all was said.
Ahem, while working for a Christian business is great in a lot of areas, it's still a business, with all of the attendant politics and bureacracy. And on top of it, because people feel that they are commissioned by God to do what they're doing, they don't always make the best business decisions. At least, that's why the company I worked for went down the toilet. Not that I'm bitter, two years of unemployment later.

While working for a "Christian industry," I became more jaded and frustrated than I'd ever been in my life...even those years of not stepping foot in a church...Granted, I worked in Christian retail (oxymoron, anyone?), but the people I dealt with were some of the most arrogant, selfish, and just down-right rude people I've ever met. And those were the ministers. I have a list of churches I will never set foot in because of the way the "minister" treated people at the store.

So ... what you're telling me is that it worked out pretty well for you two?

The Christian entertainment industry is extremely prevalent in Nashville. I actually sent a resume and air check into WAY-FM and THE FISH but they're not hiring right now. Oh well.
As for politics and a-holes all over the Christian industry - that sort of behavior is everywhere. Whatever business you're in, you'll find politics and a-holes.
I do believe that working for a company with a Christian emphasis would be more rewarding to me despite whatever drama is involved.
I'd absolutely love working for Habitat, or Feed the Children, or some of the other charitable organizations out there. I've applied to work at several, to no avail.
